Tale Smiths - N-Lite Project

Experience literature stories through immersive gameplay

Tale Smiths is an innovative game aimed at boosting the business potential of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) involved in literary tourism. The project plans to achieve this goal by integrating cutting-edge immersive technologies.

 

Specifically, the development focuses on creating a narrative-driven gaming experience that utilizes realistic 3D modeling, motion capture (Mocap) analysis, and AI-based control systems. The game will contain rich, story-driven content from Finland, Sweden, Norway, Ireland, and the Faroe Islands, effectively bringing to life the unique cultural and literary heritage of these regions. The game is created in N-Lite project.

Gameplay

In N-Lite, players are immersed in a visually stunning world where they can explore narrative-rich environments. The game utilizes motion capture technology to bring characters and animations to life, providing a seamless and realistic experience.

 

Each story within the game is designed to be interactive, allowing players to engage with the environment using camera-based AI tracking and control the characters with their movements. The gameplay is enriched with elements that reflect the local culture and literary traditions, offering a unique blend of education and entertainment.

Development

The N-Lite project's development process is focused on creating an authentic and immersive gaming experience. Realistic 3D environments are created using advanced techniques such as drone and photogrammetry imaging to ensure that every detail is accurately represented.

 

The narrative content is collaboratively developed with local experts through workshops, ensuring that each story resonates with the cultural and historical context of its respective region. The project also emphasizes the integration of local content such as poetry, songs, music, characters, and authentic 3D models to enhance the authenticity of the gaming experience.

Content creation

The content of N-Lite is deeply rooted in the cultural and literary heritage of the participating countries. The game includes a diverse range of materials, such as local poems, songs, and traditional music, all integrated into the gameplay.

 

Characters and environments are designed based on authentic 3D models, ensuring a realistic portrayal of the regions. The narrative structure is crafted to engage players with compelling stories, all while promoting the literary tourism offerings of each region.

 

By the end of the project, the game will serve as a visual and interactive story collection, offering a unique way to experience the literature and culture of Finland, Sweden, Norway, Ireland, and the Faroe Islands.

Tale Smiths is currently under development, so all the images and materials presented in the web pages are subject to change and do not represent the visual outlook of the finished project.

 

N-Lite environment will be available in selected locations in pilot countries during 2025.
