Learn how to efficiently load cargo!
In Logistics VR, you will be fully immersed in the bustling world of a warehouse worker. Equipped with a barcode reader, your task is to efficiently allocate various cargo spaces, including trucks, buses, and pallets.
Your goal is to maximize space utilization and load the cargo in the most efficient manner possible. There are parcels waiting to be handled!
Gameplay
At VR Logistics, students can engage in virtual learning activities related to truck loading, bus loading, and pallet assembly. The training environment features detailed models of cargo spaces, buses, and packages.
The system includes a barcode reader to simulate real-world loading scenarios, offering an authentic and practical learning experience.
Players receive a loading list and use a barcode reader to collect the loads. They must accurately scan and place the loads, taking into account factors such as the vehicle's center of gravity. Additionally, they need to consider the unloading order and the proper use of securing straps. Upon completion of the exercise, players will receive a score based on their performance.
Game Design
The game's procedures and actions were designed by project partners Työtehoseura, Kainuun Ammattiopisto, and TREDU. These were then transformed into virtual reality controls by the game development team.
Virtual reality functionalities were created using the Clever SE VR platform. The game team developed all the 3D content based on reference images provided by the partners.
The game's main functionality revolves around a barcode reader, which was both 3D modeled and programmed to closely resemble the real version.
The math and mechanisms related to the center of gravity and cargo attachments were produced based on the math provided by the partners.
Teaching Content
The educational content for the game was created by our project partners: Työtehoseura, Kainuun Ammattiopisto, and TREDU. We adapted educational material and various work instructions for the game, and customized functionalities for tools like the barcode reader for virtual reality.
Furthermore, all educational content and text in the game were provided by our partners. Kainuun Ammattiopisto also provided their educational space, which was transformed into the game using reference images, 360 imaging and blueprints.
